Bruno Mars and Taylor Swift have staunch fandoms and appear to have struck up a rivalry over the former’s success.
The Smoking Out The Window singer has recently released his new single I Just Might, soon after announcing his upcoming album The Romantic, which have resulted in a couple conflicting reports.
As per The Mercury News, the 40-year-old “now owns the record for the largest single-day ticket sales in Live Nation North American tour history,” surpassing the global popstar.
Moreover, Taylor Nation has just announced another remix of her lead single to be out on streaming platforms.
The 14-time Grammy winner’s management team wrote on social meda, “The Fate of Ophelia (TELYKAST & XanTz Remix) just dropped,” and asking fans to download it.
However, the move has made social media users do the opposite, since many of them see it as a way for Taylor to keep her song at the number 1 spot on streaming platforms and to prevent Bruno from achieving the status.
“Taylor Swift is trying to sabotage Bruno Mars and prevent his new song “I Just Might” from reaching #1 with the 40th version of her latest song. We should...massively play Bruno’s song on Spotify and silence Taylor Swift’s ego with her 100 versions,” one netizen wrote on X.
“Billboard should come up with a new rule that variants, remixes & deluxes won't effect the single's performance. Cuz this selfish b*tch found out the bug of the system long ago & abuses since then…” added another.
