J.Cole left his fans reeling with unexpected announcement of his seventh studio album, The Fall-Off.
Following the notification on new record, the She Knows hitmaker also dropped, project's cover art, as well as a short trailer.
Furthermore, he also delighted his fans by releasing a new single, Disc 2 Track 2.
The music video for the song is directed by Ryan Doubiago, which starts with a disclaimer before taking on a journey through a labyrinth of Cole's life in reverse.
The disclaimer stated, "For the past 10 years, this album has been hand crafted with one intention: a personal challenge to myself to create my best work."
He further shared that with this record he was able to explore new creative depths" that he couldn't do previously.
The Middle Child singer added that he didn’t know how much "time, focus and energy it would eventually take to achieve this."
However, he admitted that despite the hurdles and challenges along the way, he knew that one day he will get to the "finish line."
Cole concluded, "I owed it first and foremost to myself. And secondly, I owed it to hip-hop."
The upcoming album will be his first full-length solo album since 2021's The Off-Season.
It will also be first project post-Big 3 battle, himself, Kendrick Lamar and Drake, the rivalry which escalated in 2024 after Lamar famously rapped "Motherf----k the three big n---a, it’s just big me," on track Like That.
In response, Cole released a surprise mixtape Might Delete Later, which featured Lamar’s diss track 7 Minute Drill.
Album The Fall Off will be released on February 6.
