Colleen Hoover has been making headlines after stars of her movie adaptation It Ends With Us embroiled in a legal crossfire.
However, the 46-year-old has been battling something bigger as she recently opened up about her cancer treatment.
The author admitted being confused for “posting that picture” as she woke up to the click being run on television, leaving her feeling “mortified.”
Despite disliking the photograph, she poked fun at the move: “[I] can’t stop laughing because it tracks.”
In the picture, the no. 1 New York Times best-selling author is dressed in hospital gown over her sweatshirt with hair tied in a messy bun.
The writer decided to keep the diagnosis private to ensure the treatment is working and her “surgery was successful.” She also wanted to know what are “other treatments.”
She admitted talking about it “online with readers for a month now.” Colleen revealed that her picture posted to “thank Texas Oncology” earlier was not an announcement.
The writer also clarified that the update was not a “ploy to get sympathy-sales for release day.”
Colleen also shared other outings of her that she feels make her a “bada**,” revealing going to “radiation treatment in Dallas yesterday” and “doing a midnight release” last night in “South Carolina.”
On January 13, she launched Woman Down, a psychological thriller and revolves around author Petra Rose.
