One Battle After Another, which features Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Teyana Taylor in the lead, remained victorious at the 83rd Golden Globes.

On January 11, 2026, the movie secured awards in four categories of Best Motion Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Performance.

The film, released in 2025, has been applauded for its screen play, dialogues and was even compared to Cillian Murphy starrer Oppenheimer.

Based on Thomas Pynchon’s novel Vineland, the story revolves around Leo’s character Bob coming out from being underground for the sake of his missing daughter.

Mike Fleming Jr from Deadline explains how the critically acclaimed film might help in reviving the legacy of cinema. He is of the opinion that the audience has minimised their visit to the theatres.

The change of “tide” is described as a “fight” where projects like One Battle After Another might help in winning.

The action thriller was also honoured at the Critics Choice Awards in four categories. Moreover, fans have labelled as their “favorite movie in the last decade.”

According to a critic online, the film has successfully depicted “the chaos of the current world so well to end with empathy for the past and faith” for the future.
