Karen Read’s trial, and all the mysterious and odd things that came to light during it have inspired a new movie.

Accused: The Karen Read Story which comes out on Lifetime follows the high-profile Massachusetts case in which the financial analyst was accused of killing the Boston police officer John O’Keefe, who was also her boyfriend at the time.

The movie premiered on January 10, and the trailer paint an accurate depiction of how the mid-forties woman was perceived and being painted as the one responsible for her boyfriend’s death on January 29, 2022.

Read was being suspected of hitting O’Keefe with her car and leaving the scene, which was another Boston cop, Brian Albert's front lawn, where the victim had been invited for a party.

However, the defendant and her legal team argued that she was being framed, and pulled back the curtain on a number of unmissable details.

The attorneys argued handling of the case unambiguously contained many inconsistencies and odd involvements of authorities the victim's and potential conspirators' circles.

Read’s case has caused much controversy, protests and media scrutiny, with some still staunchly siding with the prosecution’s version of events.

Is Karen Read guilty or not guilty?

Karen was acquitted of murder and manslaughter charges against O’Keefe, and one year of probation in 2025.
