Lil Durk’s bombshell murder-for-hire case is moving forward, despite his legal team’s efforts to keep buying time.
The rapper’ case centers around a 2022 Los Angles shooting allegedly orchestrated by the All My Life rapper, in which he ordered his associated to locate and murder his rap rival Quando Rondo who ended up surviving but his cousin Lul Pab, did not.
In the recent turn of events the 33-year-old’s defense team filed a motion to dismiss the charges against the Chicago rapper, since the prosecution failed to disclose that judicial officials had received death threats by anonymous callers.
During the hearing, U.S. District Judge Michael Fitzgerald swiftly dismissed the motion, additionally remarking, “There is just absolutely no basis for this motion. Just none. Absolutely none.”
The Defense team, which is led by Atlanta attorney Drew Findling, argued that the prosecutors kept the threats hush-hush to ensure Durk would not be granted bail during his May 2025 hearing.
In response prosecutor Ian Yanniello called the defense’s motion “stunning in respect to its factual inaccuracy.”
Notably, the trial has been delayed a number of times but is finally set to take place in April of 2026 and the father-of-seven could face life in prison if found guilty.
Durk is imprisoned at MDC Los Angeles since October 24, 2024.
