The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, drew attention with a bizarre move after seemingly teasing collaboration with Lady Gaga.

It is widely reported that the 35-year-old singer is about to retire his famous persona The Weeknd after he ends his extended After Hours Til Dawn tour.

However, Abel is not done creating music as his new era is highlight anticipated.

The singer confused everyone as his official account was spotted following a mysterious account @gene.hackerman.

Surprisingly, he also shared a cryptic video on his story from the account that showed the process of creating a hand casting by melting metal.

The three-part video garnered attention from The Weeknd’s fans as they flooded the comment section of the post, expressing their confusion.

One of the social media users asked: “is this foreshadowing for some new era or am I going crazy,” while another admirer joked that the Grammy winner “is late night scrolling.”

Someone concluded: “Nothing is ever a coincidence ahhh post,” it being a hint at something from his upcoming projects.

Did The Weeknd sell his catalogue?

While many netizens were confused after the Blinding Lights hitmaker finalised a deal of his catalogue, it was revealed that he still holds the rights of his music.

Moreover, future projects would not be affected by this agreement.
