Paul Mescal shocked fans by saying that he would be disappearing from the public eye for a couple of years, but the actor is now adding context to the remark.
The Hamnet actor attended the Critics Choice Awards on Sunday, January 4, and dished on the comment in which he said that he would be taking a break and stepping away from the limelight until 2028.

“I couldn’t be further from retiring. I just, essentially, have nothing to promote after 'Hamnet' for the next two years,” Paul clarified.
The 29-year-old added, “But hear first, I’m not retiring, I’m gonna be busy for the next two years,” likely preparing for the series of Beatles films coming out by director Sam Mendes.
Paul is slated to take on the role of Paul McCartney from the legendary boy band in the four-part biopic, set to be released all at once in 2028 when the actor plans to step back into the public eye.
Yes, Paul has been in a relationship with American singer and songwriter Gracie Abrams.
