Paul Mescal is dishing on his plans 2026 and onwards, and it involves a long hiatus from public appearances.

The Normal People actor has appeared in two films this year, and might be taking some time off to prep for his next big role.

In an interview for The Guardian with his The History of Sound co-star Josh O’Connor, the Irish actor dished on his future plans.

“Once I’ve finished promoting that, I hope nobody gets to see me until 2028 when I’m doing the Beatles. People will get a break from me and I’ll get a break from them,” Paul stated.

The Gladiator II star and The Crown actor both talked about how they want to ration things, and keep a healthy work-life balance.

Josh and Paul discussed the need to focus on their personal lives so that they are not consumed by acting and don’t start resenting their jobs due to overworking.

Meanwhile the 29-year-old is poised to play Paul McCartney in a series of four films helmed by Sam Mendes, focusing on the perspectives of each of the Beatles band members.

Is Paul Mescal in a relationship?

Yes, Paul has been dating the American singer Gracie Abrams since 2024.
