Russell Brand has been charged with more counts of assault
Russell Brand, who was previously married to Katy Perry, has just been charged of more crimes atop his previous ones.
The comedian, who was charged with multiple counts of rape and sexual assault, has now been accused by more victims of the same crime.
As per a statement, London's Metropolitan Police said the Crown Prosecution Service allowed one charge of both of the heinous aforementioned crimes each, as the number of victims also increases by two.
The trial for the original charges, which were made by four different women, were of two counts of rape, one count of indecent assault and two counts of sexual assault and are supposed to go to trial on June 16, 2026.
Brand has denied all allegations against him calling them a coordinated attack and dubbing his relationships consensual.
The Get Him to the Greek actor continued to host his podcast in light of this news and had also made an appearance at the Turning Point USA event that took place during America Fest in the past couple of days.
Notably, the claims have had an effect on Brand’s career as well, as a number of individuals parted ways from the 50-year-old after the allegations became public in 2023, and other organisations and stand-up shows were also cancelled.
