Bowen Yang has officially confirmed that he will no longer be a regular cast member on the sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live.
Reports of the beloved comedian’s departure from the show had already made rounds a day earlier, but now he has finally said goodbye to the show in his own way.
In an Instagram post, the Wicked actor shared a carousel of images alongside a lengthy, heartfelt caption confirming the news.
Bowen wrote, “i loved working at SNL, and most of all i loved the people. i was there at a time when many things in the world started to seem futile, but working at 30 rock taught me the value in showing up anyway when people make it worthwhile.”
The 35-year-old expressed gratitude and love for everyone he worked and interacted with on the show, even mentioning a lot of them by name.
“thank you to ari for sending me off in the dreamiest way i could imagine. thank you to lorne for the job. for the standard. and for bringing everyone at work together,” Bowen added.
Notably, the podcaster’s final appearance on the show was alongside his good friend Ariana Grande and the iconic singer, Cher on December 20, 2025.
Bowen joined SNL in 2018 as a writer, before becoming a cast member.
