American acting veteran Mark Hamill has revealed how legendary animator Walt Disney inspired him to become an actor.
The actor is best known for starring as Luke Skywalker in the hit Star Wars series.
He also went on to cement his position as a prolific actor and voice artist.
Speaking at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, Mark revealed that in school he was tasked to write a report on Andrew Scott.
Mark ditched the assignment and instead looked at reviews of King Kong in the New York Times.
Speaking of wanting to become an actor at a young age he said “I didn’t know whether I was going to be an actor or what. But I thought whoever goes to work and makes dinosaurs come to life, I want that job.”
Mark also commented on Walt Disney’s hand in him choosing acting as his career path.
“One of the things that made an impression on me was the Walt Disney Television program cause it was the first television show that showed you how movies were actually made.. there’s a camera crew, there’s wardrobe.”
Walt Disney revolutionised entertainment in the 20th century. His influence impacted the industry in such a way that his work has transcended through decades.
