Simon Cowell is riding high once again, and insiders say the music mogul is already gearing up for round two of his latest TV gamble.

The 66-year-old has been left “thrilled” by the reaction to his new Netflix docuseries Simon Cowell: The Next Act, which follows his mission to create the next chart-topping boy band.

Despite quiet doubts over whether a talent-hunt format could still work in today’s fast-moving entertainment world, the show has struck a chord with viewers.

A source revealed there were early nerves behind the scenes, with many questioning whether audiences would care about a boy band search in 2025.

“But everyone’s been blown away by the response,” the insider said.

“Entertainment has changed massively since The X Factor, yet the demand is clearly still there.”

The success has already sparked serious talk of a second season.

While Netflix aired the first run, sources say season two isn’t guaranteed to stay on the platform.

“A follow-up is a no-brainer,” the insider added.

“The group already has a strong online fanbase, and cameras have been rolling since series one ended. Even if Netflix passes, there are options like releasing it directly to fans on YouTube.”

On the show itself, Simon admits the stakes couldn’t be higher.

Having launched global stars like One Direction and Fifth Harmony, he confesses he’s put his reputation on the line.

“I’ve put my head on the block,” he says. “If this doesn’t work, it feels like the end.”

Now, fans are watching closely to see if the king of pop talent really does have one more hit left in him.
