TikTok drops Music stats of the year: Taylor Swift, Katseye and more

TikTok published its official Year in Music report on December 9 and revealed the platform's most used songs, top artists and trends based on engagement, views and recreation of tracks globally.

Late Connie Francis’s Pretty Little Baby was awarded Global song of the Year as users made more than 28.4 million videos, gaining 68.6 billion views.

Notably, in a video Kylie Jenner recreated the track with her daughter Stormi, which was viewed more than 132 million times.

Later, the song reached 130 million streams on Spotify and garnered Billboard Global 200 chart. The song "was adopted by a new generation," Tracy Gardner marked.

The 90's songstress declared that she is "flabbergasted and excited about the huge buzz" on her 1962 song recording as she got on the platform a month before she died, in July 2025.

Taylor Swift

The platform honored 14-time Grammy Award-winning star as TikTok's Global Most-Saved Artist in 2025.

The singer's chart-topping album The Life of a Showgirl and other tracks were saved by millions from TikTok to music streaming services.

KATSEYE

The Los Angeles-based girl group was awarded TikTok's Global Artist of the Year, generating more than 30 billion views and 12 million recreated videos on the app.

The girl group comprises six members and was nominated for a Grammy twice last month.

Notably, the group’s song Gabriela gave rise to 2.4 million videos, including big names Camila Cabello and K-pop stars Enhypen, Le Sserafim and Tomorrow X Together.

"We had an unforgettable year on TikTok, and it was all because of the EYEKONS who showed up for us every single day," according to the TikTok news release statement, the group remarked.

"You turned our songs, our moments, and our chaos into something truly global, and we are so grateful for this community.”

Other TikTok 2025 awards

TikTok's Global Most-Saved Track: Back to Friends from Sombr. The song was also nominated as Grammy for best new artist. The track drove 7.7 million creations and 21.7 billion video views.

The Global Most-Saved Album: Tate McRae’s So Close To What was the most saved album. The 22-year-old Canadian popstar is a highly-followed user on TikTok with over 13.5 million followers.

Top songwriter: Ejae, one of the members of HUNTR/X in KPop Demon Hunters, co-wrote multiple soundtracks. In which Golden generated 9.8 million creations and 23.6 billion views, earning three Grammy nominations.

Music Trend of the Year: Anxiety by Doechii, setting a dance trend and garnered 10.4 million creations and 51.6 billion video views.

"TikTok has become the industry’s most powerful engine for music discovery, the place where beloved classics find a second life, Tracy Gardner noted.

She continued, “new voices break through – particularly those of women, who dominated music on TikTok in 2025,"

Further, she added that TikTok connects global audiences to artists and music that they love and the ability to spark fandom for every kind of artist and genre is "what continues to set us apart."
