Amy Schumer sets record straight about divorce

Amy Schumer has just made the difficult announcement of her divorce from Chris Fischer, dispelling gossip and speculation before it has a chance to erupt.

The pair, who share a 6-year-old son Gene, broke the news via the comedian’s social media, detailing everything.

In the Instagram post, the mother-of-one wrote “Blah blah blah Chris and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage after 7 years. We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son.”

We would appreciate people respecting our privacy at this time. blah blah blah not because I dropped some lbs and thought I could bag s [sic] basket and not because he’s a hot Janlmes beard award winning chef…” Amy’s caption continued.

The Snatched actress’s message has clearly put across that the now-separated duo does not harbour any negative feelings towards each other and that they did not have a turbulent or hate filled divorce, and will continue to co-parent their son.

Notably, Amy paired the post with an image of her and Chris sitting in a subway and smiling, which helps in furthering her point that the separation is amicable.
