A heartbreaking new twist has emerged in the ongoing estrangement between Meghan Markle and her father, Thomas Markle.
According to The Telegraph, Meghan attempted to email her father in a gesture to “reach out” but the message reportedly never reached him, as it was sent to an address he hasn’t used in five years.
Meanwhile, Thomas, 81, was publicly pleading for contact from his daughter after undergoing emergency surgery that resulted in the amputation of his leg below the knee.
In emotional comments, he begged Meghan to see him “one more time before I die.”
Despite claims that Meghan tried to reconnect, Thomas says he has no idea what email Meghan’s team used.
He told reporters he was “confused” by news of her attempted outreach, insisting he hasn’t changed his phone number and has “received no messages.”
A surgeon involved in Thomas’s operation revealed just how serious the situation was.
They explained: "We had to remove the foot. There was a massive blood clot in his thigh and that had stopped circulation to his foot and lower leg. It was life-or-death surgery."
They further warned that had the infection reached his heart, it “would most likely have been fatal.”
Although Thomas is said to be recovering, doctors emphasized he is “not out of the woods yet.”
Sources close to Meghan say her aides are willing to try again, but only if Thomas shares a current email address so her message can be forwarded correctly.
The Duchess of Sussex has been estranged from her father since shortly before her 2018 wedding to Prince Harry, following a series of damaging interviews, staged paparazzi photos, and ongoing public criticism.
