‘Actors on Actors 23’ reveals A-list star cast

The Emmy-winning series Actors on Actors is back, and the 23rd season promises an all-star lineup. 

Variety and CNN have unveiled this year’s cast, pairing Hollywood’s top performers in candid conversations about their craft.

Season 23 features highlights including Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio, Adam Sandler and Ariana Grande, Julia Roberts and Sean Penn, and Dwayne Johnson reunited with Brendan Fraser, revisiting the chemistry from The Mummy Returns (2001).

The new season begins on Friday, Dec. 5, with one conversation premiering daily for 13 consecutive days. Episodes will debut exclusively for subscribers on CNN’s new streaming platform before premiering across Variety’s digital channels. 

Full episodes air daily on CNN at 9 a.m. ET, followed by a 3 p.m. ET release on Variety’s YouTube channel. The annual Variety Actors on Actors print magazine, photographed by Alexi Lubomirski, hits newsstands Dec. 17.

“With exclusive revelations from Leonardo DiCaprio, Julia Roberts, Sean Penn, Jennifer Lawrence, Dwayne Johnson, Michael B. Jordan, Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Ethan Hawke, and more, this is our best season of Actors on Actors yet,” said Ramin Setoodeh, Variety’s co-editor in chief and co-president. “We can’t wait for fans to savor every minute of these conversations on CNN and Variety.”
