Arnold Schwarzenegger has once again proved he’s more than just a Hollywood action star, as he’s a real-life hero too.
The 78-year-old star celebrated Veterans Day in style by treating a group of veterans to a private screening of the new Running Man remake.
Sharing the story on Instagram, he revealed that during his visit to the West LA VA, he noticed the centre’s movie room was out of action.
Most people might have grumbled or shared a post online, but not Arnold.
Within a week, he had arranged buses to whisk the veterans to the Paramount lot for an unforgettable cinema experience.
“Most people would just post on social media: ‘it’s bogus our vets can’t watch movies at the VA,’” he said.
“That doesn’t get them into a movie. Do good, whenever you can. That’s your greatest power.”
The Terminator star also introduced the film to the crowd, gushing about the remake.
“I thought they did such a fantastic job. The visual effects, the action, the acting — it was brilliant,” he said, adding that he’d always felt the original 1987 version didn’t fully realise the futuristic vision he’d imagined.
Veterans were treated to pizza and a big dose of Arnie’s infectious enthusiasm, while the film’s star Glen Powell praised him on social media, calling the Predator actor “one of a kind.”
Director Edgar Wright added, “This is amazing!!! Thank you Arnold x.”
