Lizzo is sharing her in-depth analysis into the weight loss culture these days, which has been heightened with the use of drugs like ozempic.

The About Damn Time singer took to her substack to give more insight into her personal weight loss journey and the lack of body positivity in current times.

In the essay on the platform, the singer wrote that she weighs over 200lbs, and that she was still a big girl despite her drastic transformation.

Lizzo wrote, “So here we are halfway through the decade, where extended sizes are being magically erased from websites. Plus-sized models are no longer getting booked for modeling gigs. And all of our big girls are not-so-big anymore.”

“We have a lot of work to do, to undo the effects of the Ozempic boom,” the rapper added, before addressing the critique that comes with being a plus size person.

Lizzo said that one of the reasons that she lost weight was because of tired of being judged and having her identity be overshadowed by her weight.

Notably, she expressed disappointment over the fact that people stopped recognising her talents as a musician and would accuse her of making being chubby her entire personality.

How many pounds did Lizzo lose in 2025?
