Josh Hutcherson and Ariana Grande apparently go way back, as The Hunger Games star has revealed that he got a glimpse of the Into You singer’s music career before it happened.
The I Love LA was friends with the Wicked: For Good actress fifteen years ago, when she convinced him that she was a great singer.
In his interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the 33-year-old revealed that he when he was in his early teens, he was close with some of the Nickelodeon show Victorious’ cast, including Ariana who played Cat.
“I met Ariana multiple times in that day and age. She, one day, told me, ‘I’m a really good singer.’ I was like, ‘I believe you.’ Then she was like, ‘No, I can do the Mariah Carey, like, whistle sing,’” Josh recalled.
“’I was like, ‘Really?’ [And she said], ‘Yeah, watch!’ It was like a whole dolphin-voice-sounding thing. I was like, ‘You’re really good!’ She’s like, ‘I’m gonna be a singer too.’ Cut to [present-day] Ariana Grande … she was right!” he continued.
Ariana has now collaborated with the legendary Mariah Carey, and has a noteworthy singing career like she predicted.
