American pop superstar Katy Perry is said to be “having a lot of fun” with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, as their surprise romance continues to gather pace.
Reportedly, the 41-year-old Roar singer and the 53-year-old politician have been quietly dating for several months, catching up “whenever they can”.
A source told PEOPLE that Trudeau has been going out of his way to make the relationship work.
“Justin keeps making a big effort to see her, and she’s excited about it,” the insider revealed, adding that Katy, who split from Orlando Bloom earlier this year, is “loving life” with the ex-PM.
For those unfamiliar, the pair recently made their public debut as a couple while celebrating Dark Horse hitmaker’s birthday, where onlookers said they appeared relaxed, happy and very much wrapped up in each other.
Friends say Trudeau is thriving in his new chapter since separating from wife Sophie Grégoire in 2023.
“He is a much happier person now. And he is intrigued with Katy,” the source added.
Furthermore, the insiders say the lovers share “a lot in common”, from a passion for music to their idealistic outlook on life.
While both have demanding schedules and children to co-parent, the romance is progressing at a steady, thoughtful pace.
Katy Perry is a mum to one child, her daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom.
Justin Trudeau, meanwhile, has three children from his marriage to Sophie Grégoire: Xavier, Ella-Grace and Hadrien.
