Justin Trudeau and Katy Perry’s romance has garnered a lot of opinions by netizens, and now the former’s estranged wife Sophie Grégoire is also breaking her silence.
The former Canadian Prime Minister separated from his wife two years ago, 2023 and has been romantically linked with the pop star for a few months now.
In an episode of the Arlene Is Alone podcast the television host talked about how I feels to see an ex dating someone new, and even reflected on the father of her children’s new romance with the Firework singer.
“We’re human beings and stuff affects us. Normal. How you react to stuff is your decision. So I choose to try to listen to the music instead of the noise. I’m very aware that a lot of public stuff out there can be triggers,” Sophie stated.
"What I do with it is my decision. The woman I want to become through this is my decision. Does that mean I don’t have emotions? That I don’t cry, scream, laugh? No…But it’s my decision after that, between the emotion and the reaction," she added.
The 50-year-old revealed that she tries not to be reactive and tries to actively decide how she lets things affect her happiness.
Sophie also said that the exes still maintain a strong familial bond, and put their children above their personal differences to co-parent.
Katy and Orlando’s split is speculated to be due to work pressure and something that was inevitably going to take place since they had been spending time apart a while before they announced the separation.
