Tate McRae confuses people with 'lack of artistic vision'

Tate McRae, who rose to fame as a performer in So You Think You Can Dance, ignited a discussion about her artistic sense as a musician.

The 22-year-old singer unveiled a new photoshoot for her single NOBODY’S GIRL in which Tate poses as a fairy dressed in bikini, wings and high boots.

Although the Grammy nominee’s new song is out this Friday, November 21, 2025, critics pointed out that the songstress “lacks artistic vision.” 

They added in the message that it is "annoying" as she “went from cars > beach > angel in forest i’m so lost.”

One of the X users was of the opinion that her “Britney [Spears] association” started from her childhood, but was seen as profitable by RCA and “sent her to VMAs in a dress directly referencing” the 2000s popstar.

Another netizen believes she “does what the label says” as the singer signed with RCA Records in 2019 after her first track One Day was a viral hit.

However, several admirers jumped in to defend the popstar with one X user stating: “Tate’s out here proving she can be literally anything fast lane, beach babe, woodland, angel.”

This came after the Just Keep Watching hitmaker wrapped her tour with a bang and a controversy that she does not perform live. 

It is to be noted that the star suffers from asthma and does acrobats as well.
