Johnny Depp, who is notable for his classic role in Pirates of the Caribbean series, has returned with a bang but not as an actor.
The 62-year-old actor has taken the role of being a director and is seemingly introducing major changes in the industry.
While speaking with Us Weekly, French actress Antonia Desplat revealed a surprising fact about the Hollywood A-list star at the premiere of Modi: Three Days on the Wings of Madness.
The actress, playing Beatrice Hastings, admitted that Johnny is fairly open to actors making “mistakes” while shooting a scene.
Instead of editing out, many “major mishaps” have made it to the film’s final cut because he appreciates “real life merging with the characters.”
She recalled a memory of the scene where Antonia enters the cemetery, she fell which was “never really in script. He couldn’t pick me up.”
Johnny refers to those improvised acts as “movie magic,” a remark similar to what actor Bruno Gouery stated about the actor-turned-filmmaker.
He revealed that the Edward Scissorhands star directing style is “artistic” because “he speaks like an actor” and “knows our job.” Bruno added: “He can trust you and give you opportunity to show your personality.”
The Academy Award winner debuted as a filmmaker with a 1997 film The Brave that was also written by him. The upcoming movie is a new project of his which revolves around the life of an Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani.
