Diane Ladd, a three-time Oscar nominee, has died at the age of 89 at her home in Ojai, California.

The mother of Laura Dern was confirmed dead following Dern’s statement shared with The Hollywood Reporter on Monday, November 3.

“My amazing hero and my profound gift of a mother, Diane Ladd, passed with me beside her this morning, at her home in Ojai, Calif.,” Dern said in the statement.

Dern described Diane as “the greatest daughter, mother, grandmother, actress, artist, and empathetic spirit,” someone who could only be created in dreams.

She expressed feeling blessed to have had her, adding that her mother is “flying with her angels now.”

Diane, the legendary Hollywood actress, appeared in more than 200 films and TV shows, including Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore (and the TV sitcom Alice, based on the 1974 film), Wild at Heart, and Rambling Rose.

She was nominated for three Oscars and three Emmys.
