Chris Evans welcomes first child with wife Alba Baptista

Chris Evans is entering a new phase of fatherhood, as he and his wife, Alba Baptista, have just welcomed their first baby together.

The Captain America star and his wife became parents on Saturday, October 25, in Massachusetts, as first reported by TMZ.

The new addition marks the first child for both Evans and his Portuguese actress wife.

Evans has long expressed his desire to start a family. Back in a 2022 interview with PEOPLE, he opened up about his wish to settle down and have children.

"That's absolutely something I want: wife, kids, building a family," he said at the time.

The couple first linked in January 2022 and kept their relationship private until several reports in November 2022 confirmed they had been dating “for over a year.”

Following their relationship, the pair tied the knot in September 2023 during a ceremony at a private estate in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, according to reports.

In the same 2022 interview, the Marvel star also reflected that “most of the best artists, whether actors, painters, or writers, are not so proud of their work.”

Instead, according to Evans, what they cherish most “are the relationships, the families they created, the love they found, and the love they shared.”

Speaking with Access Hollywood at the premiere of his film Red One in November 2024, the actor said, “The title of dad is an exciting one.”
