Josh O’Connor s adding his perspective to Timothee Chalamet’s acceptance speech after he won the Screen Actors Guild award earlier this year.
The Dune star gave an ambitious and inspirational speech at the prestigious ceremony, by talking about how he was in the pursuit of greatness as he won Best Actor for the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown.
In the speech, the 29-year-old declares that he was grateful for the award but had his eyes set on much bigger things, naming his idols and the resultant “greatness” they had achieved with hard work.
Josh, when asked about his work-life balance in his cover story for GQ, brought up Timothee’s speech and added some of his own insights to it.
“I found it so refreshing, someone being like, ‘No, I want to be fucking great,’ But my first thoughts were like, OK, one, you already are. You did it, mate,” The Crown actor began.
“But then the other thing was like, Great that you want that, but I hope you want that in your real life too, and I hope it doesn’t only become greatness in acting,” adding that he wishes that the Beautiful Boy star would keep the same energy for his personal life.
Josh disclosed that he hopes that Timothee would also aspire to be a great friend, a great son which he believes the latter already is.
Josh is reportedly dating his Saltburn co-star, Alison Oliver.
