J.K. Rowling’s enchanting world of Hogwarts is set to make a grand return as Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone celebrates its 25th anniversary.
The film, which premiered on November 16, 2001, propelled a then-unknown Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint into international stardom.
Based on Rowling’s debut novel, the movie went on to gross over $1 billion worldwide.
It also launched one of the most successful franchises in cinema history, spanning eight films, three Fantastic Beasts spin-offs, the stage hit The Cursed Child, and global theme park attractions.
Warner Bros. has announced a year-long global celebration to honour the boy wizard who started it all.
A quarter of a century later, fans past and present can once again immerse themselves in the spellbinding world that captured hearts worldwide.
Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products revealed that the 2026 campaign will feature a worldwide theatrical re-release of the original film, special-edition merchandise, and “immersive retail activations” inspired by Hogwarts magic.
“This anniversary not only celebrates the legacy of the original film but also introduces the magic to a new generation,” the studio said.
As Warner Bros. gears up for the festivities, excitement is already building for the upcoming HBO TV adaptation of the beloved book series, set to begin production soon.
