American star Dwayne Johnson has made a rare admission about therapy.
The actor stars as UFC wrestler Mark Kerr in the upcoming movie The Smashing Machine.
The Rock had to do a lot of preparation to play the role of the troubled wrestler.
The actor admitted he was “scared” to challenge himself after years in the industry.
He also mentioned how difficult it has been for him to open up about his feelings instead of bottling them up.
“I’ve been in this space for years where I wanted to do more.”, he told The Guardian.
Confessing he was scared to open up he said, “I wanted to not only challenge myself but to listen to my gut. To really rip myself open. And, quite honestly, I was scared.”
However, speaking of therapy, which has become a more prevalent method in todays’s day and age, the actor said he is not into it.
“I’m not a big therapy guy. I’ve had some great conversations with therapists but it’s not the thing I run to.”, he said while admitting that it is not healthy.
The Smashing Machine will premiere in theatres on October 3, 2025.
