American TV show host Jimmy Kimmel’s show was taken off air due to supposed offensive comments.

The decision was made after Jimmy commented on political activist Charlie Kirk’s assassination and reaction of US President Donald Trump.

The internet was quick to react to the news calling it “fascist” and criticising the move as anti-freedom of speech.

Now, many celebrities have spoken up against the decision.

Ben Stiller shared a post about the announcement with the text, “This isn’t right”.

Comedian Wanda Sykes also shared her response to the news, calling out Trump saying “he did end freedom of speech within his first year.”

Another comedian Mike Birbiglia wrote on Instagram, “If you're a comedian + don't call out the insanity of pulling Kimmel off the air — don't bother spouting off about free speech anymore.”

Chris Hayes wrote on X, “This is the most straightforward attack on free speech from state actors I've ever seen in my life and it's not even close.”

Calling out the decision being against US’ First Amendment, Sophia Bush wrote on X, “The First Amendment doesn’t exist in America anymore. Period. Fascism is here and it’s chilling.”

On the other hand, Trump expressed his delight on the news and wished same fate for other shows.
