Johnny Depp, notable for his versatility in Hollywood, became talk of the town again after his old movie finds popularity.

Although the 62-year-old actor and Tim Burton have successfully collaborated on several movies, Johnny’s film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is now a streaming sensation.

It has been reported that the film is now one of the most-watched on the United States’ daily chart of Netflix, ranking No.9 after its debut on September 1.

Originally released in 2005, the fantasy film was an adaptation of children's novel written by Roald Dahl in 1964.

The motion picture revolves around a poverty stricken boy who finds his way in to the chocolate factory owned by Willy Wonka, played by the Hollywood A-list star.

After hitting the theatres at the time, the $100 million project became a hit as it grossed $475.8 million.

However, it was considered controversial for introducing changes to the original storyline.

Before this modern twist, the writing was turned into a movie in 1971 with the title Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, starring Gene Wilder.

Some other Tim's projects on the platform that received praise includes Wednesday and sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, marking his successful comeback in the entertainment world.

Despite being released several years ago, the surge in its stream indicates that the movie is still relevant with the new generation.

What are Tim Burton and Johnny Depp collaborative movies?

The actor and the infamous filmmaker joined hands on other projects, including Dark Shadows, Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Alice in Wonderland, Corpse Bride and Fankenweenie.
