Jamie Lee Curtis has made a surprising revelation about her decades-long career.
The 66-year-old Hollywood veteran recently spoke to The Guardian, where she opened up about gradually preparing to step away from the spotlight.
She got candid about the emotional toll of watching her famous parents, Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis, fade from the limelight as they got older.
“I witnessed my parents lose the very thing that gave them their fame and their life and their livelihood, when the industry rejected them at a certain age,” she shared.
The Freaky Friday actress said she started planning her exit long ago, determined not to face the same fate.
“I’ve been prepping to get out, so that I don’t have to suffer the same as my family did. I want to leave the party before I’m no longer invited,” she confessed.
Curtis, who’s been in the business for over 40 years, admitted the experience changed how she viewed success.
“I watched them reach incredible success and then have it slowly erode to where it was gone. And that's very painful,” she added.
Still, the Oscar winner isn’t calling it quits just yet, with several projects in the pipeline.
