Dexter: Resurrection stars Jack Alcott and Michael C. Hall have a prep routine before filming scenes together.
On July 9, at the Dexter: Resurrection world premiere in New York City, Alcott revealed to PEOPLE that the on-screen father-son duo sometimes needed a little extra motivation.
"There have definitely been times where one of us or both of us will get down and do some pushups to get amped,” Alcott said, “and there have been one or two moments of just taking a second and standing with one another.”
The actor recalled that they didn’t rehearse or run lines before filming; instead, they would just “lock in and go.”
He explained this lack of prep as allowing him and Hall to "jump right in so that it's all fresh."
Alcott starred in the crime thriller franchise in 2021’s Dexter: First Blood, where he portrayed the titular character's son, Harrison Morgan.
Now, he reprises his role in Dexter: Resurrection, which released its first two episodes on Paramount+ on July 11.
