Pedro Pascal is currently promoting his movie Fantastic Four in which he is playing the role of Reed Richards.
The actor has been receiving hateful comments for being casted as a Marvel hero at the age of 50.
The 50-year-old responded to trolls saying he is focused on meeting fan expectations. He also emphasized that he will work to meet the expectations even if someone thinks he is too old for the role.
Pedro addressed the backlash at an event in London saying “Sometimes the outside will find you no matter how much you try to protect yourself from it”.
Speaking of the importance of his character, he said “These stories only exist because of how much people care about them, and I felt that responsibility more than usual.”
“The only way to meet expectations is to give it all my focus, all my heart, my body, and my soul. That’s what I’ve done.”, he added.
The movie features Pedro Pascal alongside Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm.
