The popular NBC sitcom The Office’s star has announced shockingly that he is leaving comedy to pursue "something bigger."
This week, Craig Robinson, who portrayed Darryl Philbin in the popular series, informed his fans of the news on his main Instagram page.
The 53-year-old actor posted a video with the caption, "Hey everyone! I just wanted to let you know that I'm leaving the comedy industry.
Robinson continued, “But not for nothing. It's been an amazing run and y'all have been amazing and wonderful. But I'm following something bigger. So, thank you so much. I love you and stay tuned.”
He wrote: "Life update: I'm officially quitting comedy to focus on my true calling" in the caption that went with the reel. Keep an eye out. I have a big project underway.
Craig then teased his next career endeavour in a second video, though he hasn't yet revealed the specifics.
“Hey, guys!' Robinson began. 'Big shoutout to all my small business owners. Hey, you guys got any advice for me while I'm trying to get my business afloat?”
The actor further added, “I hit a few bumps in the road and I sure would appreciate your guys' tips. Thank you!”
However, Craig's fame extends beyond his work on The Office, which also featured Steve Carell, John Krasinski, Rainn Wilson, Jenna Fischer, B. J. Novak, Mindy Kaling, Leslie David Baker, and Kate Flannery.
