Netizens have taken Netflix blockbuster series ‘Squid Game 3’ finale by storm, calling it a ‘sequel’ to ‘Game of Thrones’.

Many squid game fans are disappointed with the streaming platform's latest drop of the final season of South-Korean series that was once considered a ‘thriller’!

Why are fans disappointed?

Many fans are upset because Gi-Hun, the series protagonist, was supposed to wrap up these deadly games once and forever, not die for it.

Moreover, the plot twist featuring an infant baby winning the game without even participating in a single round seems like a forced device.

Brutal Journey: A Mother & her Newborn’s journey

The second Season left with a million-dollar question as what happened to player 222 (Jun Hee) and her unborn child?

Jun Hee survives long enough to be able to deliver the baby during the next game, but of course the experiment is heartbreaking for the viewers.

In that very same approach, Hyun Ju (player 120) is killed, becoming the first of the many beloved characters to go this season.

For many, the most astonishing twist was, when Geum Ja (player 149) murders her own son just so she could protect Jun Hee and her baby.

After the players vote count goes in favor of continuing the game, Geum Ja suicide didn’t justify the core of 'Squid Game'.

Then, a complete flawed approach adopted by creator Hwang Dong-Hyuk, who invented ‘jump rope’ game to give it a 180-degree turn, which was specifically designed for the ‘surprise’ element.

Jun Hee with a damaged ankle keeps her from crossing a scary bridge.

Ultimately ‘superhero’ came to rescue both, carries the baby over himself, but that was the moment when Jun Hee realizes he may return for her, she sacrifices herself, but entrusting her child’s destiny with Gi-Hun.

The newborn child was assigned her mother’s number, 222, and competes in the remaining game.

Backlash and introspection: Feminist, ethical or deceptive?

By all means, the finale didn’t do justice to its viewers. Fans were left divided. Some called the near total absence of women after Episode 4, as the only female survivor being an infant.

A misogynistic approach that the director has adopted. Some fans see it as a “pro-life” message.

And the most shocking move was to eliminate the player 456 (Gi-Hun) shows vague plot and in contrary with the core theme of the series.

Final clash

In the last round, Gi Hun and Myung Gi (father of infant) have a face off. But due to a glitch, Gi-Hun and the infant turn out to be the last two survivors. As we all know, only one has to survive to win the ‘Piggy Bank’ prize money, Gi-Hun sacrifices himself in a hope (though fans don’t agree) that the infant can live, therefore he terminates his life so he can bring an end to any possible revolt against the Squid Games.

What’s a script… full of comedy of errors! Squid Game fans didn’t deserve this.
