American rapper and writer Ludacris, whose real name is Christopher Bridges, revealed that the hefty Fast and Furious franchise’s finale would be out next summer.

During a recent appearance at the Waymo x Uber event, the Grammy-winning hitmaker opened up about his work on the franchise, as well as “new music,” reported People.

Ludacris has been portraying Tej Parker in the globally loved action movie franchise, starring Vin Diesel, since 2003’s 2 Fast 2 Furious.

The actor recently reprised his role in 2023’s Fast X.

Revealing the fate of the film, the rapper said he was working on "one more Fast and Furious because it’s the 25th anniversary next year."

The franchise staple said the original movie came out in June 2001, and the last film was expected to be released around the same month in 2026.

“So those were the two big things at the moment,” Ludacris said. “But that whole 25-year anniversary was definitely a big one.”

Previously, in a 2024 interview with People, the Grammy-winner said that many franchises ended, but “they didn’t really end.”

“It was almost like the beginning of something new,” Ludacris remarked. “So I didn’t feel like it would ever truly end either, but you never know.”

Furthermore, he hinted that Fast X might not be the last movie.

“The last one was open-ended, so to speak. It kind of left people hanging,” he told the outlet. “I felt like we were definitely going to come back at some point very soon to surprise everyone. Will it be the last? I didn’t know, but we would see.”
