Amy Poehler has addressed the controversial satire of Saturday Night Live, that is now been dubbed as problematic.
The actress, who has previously spent a huge chunk of her career on the show, has reflected her time on the show.
The 53-year-old has admitted that some of the humour on the show was offensive and “inappropriate”.
While speaking to Will Forte on her Good Hang podcast, Amy responded to Will’s remark that now looking back at SNL, it was “all about getting a laugh”.
Amy agreed with Will and said “The part about getting older and being in comedy is you have to figure out: Everything has an expiration date.”.
“I misappropriated. I appropriated. I didn’t know. I did know”, she said, “It’s very real, and the best thing you can do is make repairs, learn from your mistakes”.
Amy went on to have a great career afterwards yet her past SNL skits are often raised as a question.
Amy was diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), which is a common sleep disorder.
