Arthur Folasa Ah Loo, a celebrated fashion designer and former Project Runway contestant, was tragically killed during an anti-Trump protest in Salt Lake City over the weekend.
The 39-year-old was an innocent bystander when police opened fire on an armed suspect in the crowd.
According to authorities, the officer’s three rounds struck both the suspect, Arturo Gamboa, who is now charged with murder, and Ah Loo, who later died in the hospital.
The protest was part of the national “No Kings” movement, which drew millions across the U.S. in opposition to Donald Trump’s political agenda.
Salt Lake City Police Chief Brian Redd said the department is launching a full investigation and emphasised that the shooting was not targeted.
The artist's death has sparked grief in both fashion and activist communities, who remember him as a voice of culture and compassion.
