Korean pop boy group BTS went on a hiatus to complete their mandatory military service as ordered by the South Korean law, in 2022.
The group is now nearing its reunion after two of the seven members have returned after being discharged from military.
BTS leader RM and vocalist V began their enlistment process in late 2023 along with Jungkook and Jimin and returned on the morning on June 10, days before BTS’ 12th anniversary.
Namjoon, also known as RM and Taehyung, also known as V, were given a salute on their discharge in Chuncheon City as they walked out to pose for the cameras.
“To all the ARMYs who have waited for us in the military, I want to say I am truly, truly grateful”, V addressed the media.
Hinting at the news of a potential reunion of all 7 members, V said “Please wait just a little longer and we will return with a really cool performance”.
Jimin and Jungkook are reported to be discharged by tomorrow meanwhile the eldest three, Jin, Suga and J-Hope, completed their service earlier.
