American action thriller film and John Wick franchise's fifth instalment, Ballerina, featuring Cuban-Spanish actress Ana de Armas, hit theatres on Friday, June 6.

Following the movie release, while talking with Entertainment Weekly, the Oscar-nominated star described her inclination with the character Eve in the movie.

Eve Macarro is a ballerina who is being trained by the Ruska Roma.

Speaking with the news outlet, de Armas depicted a “risky” scene where she uses a flamethrower against some enemies as revenge for her father’s murder.

“I remember the first day the stunt team was practising with the fire,” de Armas recalled, “and they told me to go do it before the shoot, and I said, 'No, no, no, I'll be fine.'”

The rising A-list performer said that the stunt team wanted to test her fiery skills before the final shot, so they asked her to burn the main fire guy who gets burned.

The guy appeared in “sticky grease or whatever they put for protection,” and as the team told her to burn him, she did—and broke down in tears.

"It was really emotional," de Armas confessed. "I've never seen anyone burning, even though it's fake."

However, after the test run, the BAFTA nominee shared that she was able to handle the flamethrower scene without being uncontrollably emotional.

She said that "everyone was super careful, and it turned out to be an amazing experience."

Netflix’s The Gray Man star said that she burned around a hundred people and was glad that earlier practice made her finish without tears.

“But it's amazing to see what [the stunt performers] do — I can't believe you guys put yourselves through this. It's unbelievable," de Armas said, adding that she even had to protect her eyelashes and hair to prevent burns.
