Tom Cruise has been busy promoting his action thriller Mission Impossible - The Final Reckoning.
The actor known for doing his stunts by himself has set a world record with a stunt he did for the eight edition of the Mission Impossible franchise.
The Ethan Hunt actor has been awarded the Guinness World Record for “most burning parachute jumps by an individual”.
The 62-year-old Hollywood legend jumped 16 times to make the record.
According to Guinness World Records, Tom jumped out of a helicopter while strapped to a fuel-soaked parachute 16 times, before he cut away the burnt remnants of the first parachute and safely deployed a second one.
Tom was awarded the world record title on June 4 after being confirmed that no actor or stuntman has come close to performing the daring stunt.
Editor-in-Chief of Guinness World Records Craig Glenday lauded Tom saying that a huge part of his legacy is that he has been pushing boundaries of what a leading man can do.
