Ye, formerly Kanye West, has announced that he will soon be changing his account on X (Twitter). The Chicago Rapper currently amasses over 33 million followers on Elon Musk owned micro-blogging site.
The I Wonder singer took to X, announcing, "Ima finally stop using the @kanyewest twitter cause my name is Ye. Gonna start a ye account and it is what it is."
Fans of the famed singer quickly took to the comment section to express their opinion. Some tried educating the rapper as one of them wrote, "You can just change your at ye, you don't need to make a whole new account." While another pointed out that the username Ye has already been occupied by someone, "When he finds out someone else took the ye tag already."
Few fans also requested to have his current account @Kanyewest, as one fan wrote, "Can I have this account when you're done with it." Another expressed similar kind of desire and wrote, "Can i run the kanyewest page king. I wont day anything you wouldnt say i promise."
One of the netizens also accused the rapper of being trans, they wrote, "Bro is trans just identifies as Ye even though we all know his real name."
The 24-time Grammy Award Winner has been using the name since years. He expressed his desire to change his official name from Kanye West to Ye in 2018 and eventually filed paperwork years later in 2021, a Los Angeles judge granted the request.
