Bella Ramsey gives insight into ‘The Last of US' Season 3

Bella Ramsey closed The Last of Us Season 3 with a nail-biting cliffhanger, when Abby held a gun to Ellie and the scenes faded out.

The suspenseful close call left the audience questioning if they’ll be seeing Emma, Ramsey’s character in the play, in Season 3.

The 21-year-old actress made it clear whether her character will return for the HBO series’ third season in an interview with Variety, published May 25.

Ramsey revealed that she hasn’t seen the script yet but expects to be on the show for the upcoming season.

“I think that I’m going to be there, but not a whole bunch,” Ramsey said.

As the season wrapped with Ellie killing two characters in her search for Abby, and with Abby pointing a gun at her by the end, there were mixed expectations for Ellie’s return to the show.

However, Ramsey says that Ellie’s screen time is “most likely” to be reduced so the story can revolve around Abby.

“I sort of have a rough idea of what it’s going to be, but I can’t tell you,” Ramsey teased.

Moreover, the co-creators of the show, Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, also confirmed in a May 23 press conference that Ellie is returning.

“All I can say is we haven’t seen the last of Kaitlyn Dever,” Mazin admitted, “and we haven’t seen the last of Bella Ramsey.”

Meanwhile, the producers have also teased fans about many characters who are currently dead but that's may not have been their last appearance in the story, including Dina, played by Isabela Merced.

Production has told Variety in the past few days that The Last of Us Season 3 is expected to begin filming in 2026.
