Prince Harry has been slammed for what a security expert is calling "the mother of all [expletive] ups" after new footage emerged of the former royal wandering the streets of London without visible protection.

The shocking incident reportedly took place just hours after Harry’s legal team argued at the Court of Appeal that his life is "at stake" without full police security during UK visits.

In footage captured by a doorbell camera, the Duke of Sussex was seen outside a stranger's home, allegedly trying to track down old friends John and Georgina Vaughan, unaware that they had long since moved away.

The security slip-up has raised serious concerns, with one insider telling the MailOnline that if Harry was without a bodyguard, it represents an "unforgivable" security lapse.

Former Scotland Yard detective Peter Bleksley criticized Harry’s decision to walk around unprotected, saying: "For him to be able to go walkabout down a London street without a security detail will have been his decision, and his alone."

Adding to the scrutiny, royal biographer Tom Bower said Harry looked "lost" in the footage, both physically and emotionally, amid his ongoing estrangement from the royal family.

Speaking to GB News, Bower said: "He's pretty desperate. He was looking for company, I think. That really is the issue. Harry feels completely isolated from Britain."

Bower continued: "Harry doesn't know what to do anymore. He's losing all sorts of relations in Britain. He hasn’t got a purpose. He's embarrassed with his charities in Africa. Invictus is really only once every two years. He's losing any reason for being the Prince."
