Cannes Film Festival has begun on May 13 and will go on till May 24, giving platform to many critically acclaimed movies from around the world.

Along with that, the event is also set to honour industry greats with a lifetime achievement award.

This year’s honorary Palme d’Or for lifetime achievement will be presented by the Hollywood legend Leonardo Di Caprio.

The actor will present the award to one of his co-stars, an acting legend who has featured in at least 130 movies.

Leonardo will present the Lifetime Achievement award to the 81-year-old legend Robert De Niro, as confirmed by Variety.

The two actors starred together in 1993’s This Boy’s Life and reunited for 2023’s Killers of the Flower Moon.

“I have such close feelings for Festival de Cannes…Especially now when there’s so much in the world pulling us apart, Cannes brings us together — storytellers, filmmakers, fans, and friends. It’s like coming home.”, Robert shared when the honour was first announced.
