Crazy Rich Asians star Henry Golding appeared on the Today Show where he gave an update on the TV series from Max and Warner Bros.
Coming from creators Adele Lim, Jon M. Chu, and Kevin Kwan, Golding revealed, “Everybody’s excited.”
“I was with Nora, Awkwafina, who is a fellow New Yorker, the other night, and we were discussing it. We had Adele Lim come over and visit me and Gemma [Chan] in London not too long ago to discuss where we’re heading. We have a larger, longer-running format because we’re doing a series. We have so much runway to really share the world you kind of got a glimpse of in Crazy Rich. We’re really excited to show more,” he continued.
Although the actor did not confirm explicitly that he would be a part of the series, it seems many of the main stars are eager to make a return.
Chu, who directed the movie, and the author of the book that it was adapted from, Kevin Kwan will be serving as executive producers.
Insiders have revealed that the TV series will not be replacing the sequel to the original movie, which is still in development.
