Prince Harry extended a heartfelt birthday wish to a senior veteran in a new video message amid growing tensions with the royal family.
The Duke of Sussex recorded a special video for Ghanaian World War II veteran Private Joseph Hammond to laud his selfless service.
Beaming Harry said, "Happy birthday Hammond of Ghana, Happy birthday sir, wishing you a very very happy 100 birthday."
"The Invictus delegation has just returned from Ghana and says that you are in fine spirits. I am very happy to hear that. Thank you from all of us for your incredible service, [when you were in uniform] and as a veteran, you are quite literally a hero," He added.
In response, Sir Hammond expressed his gratitude towards the Duke of Sussex, who showed admiration for the war hero.
Alongside Harry's video, Sir Hammond wrote, "At 100 years old, I am reminded that the bonds of service and respect truly cross all borders. The prospect of the Invictus Games coming to Ghana is one I fully support—with land readily available through my Foundation."
"Your words have filled my heart with gratitude. It is a true honour for the Joseph Ashitey Hammond Foundation to partner with the @weareinvictusgames to establish not just a center but one of the very best here in Africa."
