Tina Fey disclosed that she doesn’t hesitate to call her sketches “stupid” if a certain crowd considers them unimpressive.
The Mean Girls alum stated that her designation working for the NBC show upgraded from writer to head writer to cast member in 2000, and her pervious role isn't always a hit with her family.
Fey, who appeared in the "Weekend Update" section of the show was responding to Kelly Clarkson in a recent episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show when she began, “I was really lucky ‘cause I came in as a writer.’”
The 30 Rock actress was joined by fellow SNL member Will Forte when the Addicted singer had asked them if they ever get “anxious” about returning to the location where SNL goes live from.
Fey then went on to say, "On Peacock, they show old, random-ordered sketches from SNL on the SNL channel, sometimes ones have come up that my kids are like, 'What is this?' And I fully wrote it, and I'm like, 'I don't know. That's so stupid, right?' "
The Golden Globe winner shares daughters Alice Zenobia Richmond, 19, and Penelope Athena Richmond, 13 with husband Jeff Richmond, and has been vocal about the fact that she values the opinion of her children in her professional life.
Notably, Fey had informed media outlets that she asked her daughters for their input while writing the Mean Girls musical in 2024.
The Mean Girls musical originally premiered in 2017 at the National Theatre. The play has also been adapted into a movie in 2024.
