Fans of underground music are in shock after it was revealed that the artist Wifiskeleton has passed away on Monday, May 5.
The elusive musician is believed to have died of a drug overdose after he went on Instagram Live just hours before his death to say “I’m going to overdose tonight and kill myself.”
The news of Wifiskeleton's demise was first shared on Discord by his fellow artist and associate Witchbox.
Witchbox disclosed that his friend was already “cold” when the authorities arrived at the scene and pleaded with the fans to be respectful.
Following the announcement, other associates also confirmed the tragic news on their record label’s Discord server.
Fans of the 21-year-old took to social media to share their grievances, with many paying tributes on his last Instagram post made on April 12.
It is worth noting that neither Wifiskeleton’s family nor the authorities have confirmed the news of his demise as of writing this article.
Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Wifiskeleton has over 1.8 million listeners on Spotify. His work diffused elements of lo-fi, hyperpop and hip-hop and explored themes of depression, heartbreak and personal struggles. The singer is known for singles like Loser Club and Nope Your Too Late I Already Died.
